Showato - "Showa era sword" (this term refers to any sword made during the Showa era, 1926 to 1989, not to whether it is handmade or not.
Tsuba - Tsuba were originally utilitarian fittings, made to protect the hand from the cuts of an opponent's sword.
Menuki - is a kind of metal fitting of the Japanese sword, which was initially put into the hole of the handle. It covers Mekugi (nail) so that the blade of a sword will be fixed.
